The Greenville Chamber of Commerce Minority Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Bank of America, is presented to a local independently- and minority-owned company that has been in business for a minimum of three years. The 2010 award was presented to Michael M. Simpson & Associates, Inc., on Tuesday, 8 February 2011 at the Carolina First Center.  Gary Kelly, Southwest Airlines chairman of the board, president and CEO was the keynote speaker for the Chamber’s 122nd Annual Meeting.

MMSA is proud to announce that Justin K. Crain, PE is LEED AP BD+C certified. The LEED AP BD+C credential provides a standard for professionals participating in the design and construction phases of high-performance, healthful, durable, affordable and environmentally sound commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings. The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) created this specialty credential to denote practical knowledge of the Green Building Design + Construction LEED rating systems: LEED for New Construction, LEED for Schools and LEED for Core & Shell. Engineering News-Record (ENR) has published another ranking, this time showing the top design firms: ENR Top 500 Design – 2010 (article publication date 5-July 2010). The listing ranks Design firms by their 2009 revenue.
