Our engineers and designers average over 20 years of experience in structural engineering. Our background experience includes bridges, justice / institutional buildings, low and mid-rise office buildings, parking garages, research laboratories, government office / laboratory facilities and schools. We are experienced in new building design, renovation design, and feasibility studies. Although MMSA qualifies as a small disadvantage business enterprise, we are well-equipped and experienced in providing quality structural engineering design expertise and technical competence to manage large and small projects. We are organized to maintain project schedules as well as select economical and feasible building framing system and foundations systems to help control cost. Each project is lead by Michael M. Simpson, PE a structural engineer with over 20 years experience. Furthermore, Mr. David Simpson, PE is responsible for the overall management of transportation projects including bridge design. He has more than 23 years of experience in designing bridges and managing transportation projects. His past projects include river and stream crossings, numerous grade separation structures and staged construction structures over railroads. Mr. David Simpson has expertise in a variety of structural types, including plate girders (both curved and straight), rolled beams, prestressed girders, cored slabs, drilled pier (caisson) bents, steel pile bents and concrete pile bents. He is also experienced in guardrail retrofit, culvert design and retaining wall design. A former bridge designer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where he managed as many as 10 bridge design projects simultaneously, Mr. David Simpson is well versed in all aspects of project management. His excellent project management skills enable him to maintain long-term successful client relationships. Lastly, our design teams have experience with projects ranging in construction cost size from less than $250,000 up to $100.0 million.
