The Upcountry History Museum, located in the Heritage Green cultural complex in the downtown area of Greenville, South Carolina, has a three-story scheme utilizing a full basement, two levels of exhibit space, parking, and landscaped green space. The form of this state-of-the-art museum reflects two brick exhibit halls with vaulted standing seam roofs. The steel frame brick veneer building boasts floor to floor heights of 18 ft, as well as an 85 ft tower reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century mill. Moreover, several of the ceilings loom above at 30 ft, and the steel frame is exposed on the inside of the museum to create an atmosphere of the industrial mill buildings that form an integral part of the history of Greenville, SC.
