Michael M. Simpson & Associates, Inc., (MMSA), is a small minority business enterprise located in Greenville, South Carolina. Established in August 1999, MMSA’s engineers and designers average over 25 years of experience in structural engineering.  We have a team of 24 employees, with seven registered professional engineers.  As a diversified structural engineering consulting firm, we have a vast amount of experience in new building and renovation designs, anti-terrorism / force protection designs, building code / forensic assessments, feasibility analyses, 3D structural analysis and Building Information Modeling for the following diverse project/facility types.

Our projects range in size from 100 SF to 840,000 GSF and construction cost from less than $250,000 up to $200 million.

Although MMSA qualifies as a small minority business enterprise, we are well equipped and experienced in providing quality structural engineering design expertise and technical competence to manage and deliver large and small projects simultaneously.  We are organized to maintain project schedules as well as select economical and feasible building framing systems and foundations systems to help control cost. At MMSA, we demonstrate a clear commitment to each project, which is central to our day-to-day working lives, and we aspire to excellence in everything we do.  Each project is led by Michael Simpson, P.E., a structural engineer with nearly 30 years’ experience.

With substantial resources available to MMSA, our professional Team is committed to successfully satisfy our clients’ demands.  Moreover, our depth of resources ensures that we can quickly accommodate any changes.  At MMSA, we have computer software for 3D structural analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM), and we use AutoDesk Revit Structure and AutoCad as well as Microstation to deliver our end products.

Michael M. Simpson & Associates, Inc. provides construction inspection services of new multi-family projects or the repair or rehabilitation of existing multi-family projects for the Atlanta Hub geographical area of HUD. These services include all management, supervision, personnel, equipment, materials, suppliers, special purpose inspections and warranty inspections, and services necessary to perform, schedule, coordinate, and assure effective performance of all assigned construction inspections for multi-family properties.

More notably, MMSA provides consulting structural engineering for 10% of the top 100 design firms on ENR Top 500 Design Firms listing and 15 of the top 50 contractors on ENR’s 2010 Top 400 Construction Firms listing (ranked, respectively, by design services and by construction 2010 revenues).
