In an effort to provide more space for its ever-growing Department of Industrial Engineering, Clemson University has added a new addition to the existing Freeman Hall. MMSA provided structural engineering and construction administration for the new three-story Freeman Hall expansion project. The additional 21,000 sf of office and classroom space includes a three-level steel frame with vertical steel bracing for the lateral loads, faculty offices, conference rooms, student collaboration spaces, and a state-of-the-art, distance learning enabled auditorium with seating for 100 attendees. The building site addition, separated by an expansion joint, is adjacent to the existing Freeman Hall.
