Michael M. Simpson + Associates, Inc. (MMSA) is the Structural Engineer-of-Record for this new two-story Concourse structure as part of the overall Terminal Capacity Enhancement Program intended to provide additional space for Ticketing, Baggage Claim, Terminal Gates, and Administration at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.  The two-story conventional steel-framed Concourse structure consists of composite concrete floor deck, open-web steel roof joists, light gauge metal-framed curtain walls, and glazed curtain wall storefront systems.  The deep foundation system consists of 16” diameter auger cast piles, pile caps with a range of 1 to 6 piles per cap, and with grade beams at the perimeter non-load bearing exterior walls and tie beams for lateral stability of the interior column lines.
