As founder of Michael M. Simpson + Associates, Inc. in 1999, Mr. Simpson has 100% ownership of MMSA as well as control of both the operations and management of MMSA.  Michael has 39+ years of extensive expertise as a structural engineer in structural framing and foundation design of steel, wood and reinforced concrete building systems.  As president / CEO, Michael’s duties and responsibilities include the supervision and execution of calculations, drawings, specifications and adherence to building codes.  He also conducts shop drawing reviews, interdisciplinary / quality control coordination with other disciplines, and feasibility studies.  Michael collaborates closely with the entire project team, from start to finish, to develop the most advantageous structural systems for each client and owner in accomplishing their goal.

Michael’s background includes justice / institutional buildings, laboratory facilities, military buildings, government office buildings, health care facilities, college / university facilities, K-12 schools, commercial buildings, mid-rise office buildings, parking garages, and bridges.
